Dr. Mike Mizumoto, hospital director and owner, was born and raised in Seattle, WA. He received his B.S. degree (1971) and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (1975) from Washington State University. Upon graduation, he was employed as an associate veterinarian at Twin Lakes Veterinary Hospital for six years before taking ownership in 1981. His professional interests include: soft tissue, orthopedic, and laser surgery, dermatology, dentistry and ear disease. During his spare time, Dr. Mizumoto enjoys golf and traveling. He is married to Margaret and has 3 children, Ryan, Robert, and Andrea and four granddaughters.
Norine started working at Twin Lakes since January 2000 and received her Veterinary Technician License in 2001. Originally from Oahu, Norine started as a technician in Hawaii, working with small animals, birds, and exotic animals. She likes to cook and do DIY projects in her spare time. Norine enjoys working with older animals and can work with more difficult pets, creating a stress-free environment.
Etsuko graduated from Pierce College with her Animal Health Technician degree in 2002 and worked at a hospital in Renton before coming to Twin Lakes in 2006. She particularly enjoys learning about dermatology and pharmacology in animals. She lives in Seattle with her artistic husband, he ballerina daughter, and her beautiful German Shepherd, Jetta. Etsuko loves reading, watching movies, and walking/hiking with her dog!
Courtney started in 2021 with previous experience at a doggy daycare/boarding facility. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, she loves outdoor adventures, playing soccer, and any Doodle that comes into the hospital! She has a Poodle mix named Finn and a Pitbull mix named Boone at home.
Gina Au, DVM
Dr. Gina Au was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Duke University and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University. She moved to Western Washington in 2019 to join Twin Lakes Veterinary Hospital. Her professional interests include internal medicine, pain management and surgery. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, and playing with her cat May.
Shirley has been with us since 2011, first as a kennel assistant, then as a receptionist, and now as a nurse! She graduated Pierce College in 2016, receiving her Veterinary Technician license. She has a cat named Shadow, two Corgi mixes, Cash and Subaroo (Roo) and a Border Collie mix, Turbo. In her free time you might find Shirley at the gym, out shopping for makeup, shooting a great photo, or riding dirt bikes with her husband.
Zoe joined our team in 2021 and has plans to become a licensed veterinary technician. You may find her snowboarding in the winter time, then hiking and/or camping in the warmer months. She has two Pitbull mixes at home named Stella and Apollo.
Nicole has been with us since 2018, originally to job shadow as a veterinarian. She loves to bake and spoil her co-workers with delicious treats. Her family has an Australian Shephard named Rin and she has a cat named Gemma. She has recently been accepted to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian and we are so excited for her!
Robert Mizumoto, DVM
Dr. Rob Mizumoto was raised in Federal Way. He graduated from the University of Portland with his Bachelor degree in Biology and earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in May 2012. His professional interests include surgery, internal medicine, and diagnostic imaging. Dr. Rob is an avid Seattle sports fan – especially for the Seahawks and Sounders – and enjoys athletics, especially crossfit, soccer, hiking, and snow skiing. He currently resides in Seattle with his wife Laura, daughter Emiko, and tripod cat, Potsticker.
Sara started as a part-time kennel assistant in high school and has continued working with us after receiving her Animal Health Technician degree from Pierce College in 1999. She has the distinction of being our longest term employee! Her husband Dave enjoys the many culinary delights that Sara whips up and they both enjoy their motorcycle adventures. They share their home with two adopted cats, Rikki and Bobbie, and their recuse pup, Texas Walker Ranger.
Cherilyn moved from the Midwest and joined the Twin Lakes Veterinary Hospital staff in 2020. In her 22 years of experience, she has developed a special interest in senior/geriatric wellness. In her spare time, you may find her cooking, gardening, or reading. At home, she has a small mixed dog and a pair of adopted brother cats.
Ashley started here in 2021 with some previous experience in the veterinary field. She has an adorable cat named Kuro and loves videogames, cooking, and art. She hopes to get into sonography someday, but for now, she’s enjoying helping animals and their parents!
Eunkyung Park, DVM
Dr. Park received her Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering from HanYang University and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Kangwon National University in South Korea. After graduation, Dr. Park and her husband (Jong) decided to start life in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Dr. Park obtained her Washington Veterinary License in 2003 and has since been practicing in WA. Her interests in the veterinary sphere include internal medicine, preventative medicine, and diagnostic imaging. Dr. Park enjoys cooking, sewing, traveling, and spending time with her daughter Allison, Bently and Tigger, her dogs, and Navya, her cat.
Jenny, a licensed technician, received her Animal Health Technician degree from Pierce College in 1993 and externed at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in New York City. She and her husband, Michael, enjoy living in Sumner with her two teenage sons, Riley and Matthew, their two cats, Ringo and Opie, their dog, Steve, and their snake, Salazar. Jen enjoys playing softball and doing DIY projects and she particularly loves dentistry and anesthesia!
Marlene started here in October 2015 and works as both an assistant and receptionist. She loves shopping and getting creative with makeup, watching crime/forensic and horror shows, and going to music festivals! Marlene also has an obsession with bulldogs and even has one of her own, along with three other beautiful dogs and two wonderful cats!
Tracee has worked in the veterinary field since 1999. She has three cats at home, but loves on any animal she can get her hands on. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and going to Disneyland (but not always in that order). She loves working with animals and their human parents.
